Flying Eye Hospital.

The Flying Eye Hospital is Coming to Ottawa

From June 1-3, our amazing Orbis Flying Eye Hospital – the only one of its kind in the world – will be visiting Ottawa. Don't miss your chance to check it out.

The Flying Eye Hospital is our state-of-the-art, surgical training hospital on board an MD-10. Staffed by an expert medical team and our world-leading Volunteer Faculty, the Flying Eye Hospital travels around the world to train local eye care teams so they can save sight in their own communities.

Since 1982, the Flying Eye Hospital has been a call to action for better eye care around the world. Wherever it lands, it raises awareness, creates change and rallies supporters – local governments, health ministries, non-profit organizations, philanthropists, and the general public – to join us in our mission.

To celebrate this once-in-a-decade opportunity, we are offering a limited number of exclusive VIP tours of the Flying Eye Hospital. Reserve your tour now.

A limited number of 30-minute tours will be available at the Canada Reception Centre (Ottawa International Airport) during the morning and afternoon of Saturday, June 1 through Monday, June 3.

Please email [email protected] with your preferred tour date and time.

Tour slots are extremely limited and will fill up quickly. We will confirm availability, as well as provide all necessary details for parking and arrival when you RSVP. Please bring a valid government issued photo ID when you arrive for your tour.

Proudly Supported by Fedex

The MD-10 aircraft that ultimately became our third-generation Flying Eye Hospital was generously donated by the employees of FedEx. FedEx is the leading aviation sponsor of the Flying Eye Hospital and Orbis’s first Global Sponsor.

In Canada, FedEx Canada is the National Event Sponsor of our signature fundraiser, Plane Pull for Sight, and a proud supporter of the Flying Eye Hospital visits to Ottawa and Toronto.
