With support from OBAT Canada, we are working with our partners to reduce preventable vision loss and blindness due to cataracts among Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh. In most cases, a cataract can be removed – and a person’s vision restored – with a simple, quick and inexpensive surgery.

Thanks to the Peter Gilgan Foundation, Orbis established the first-ever retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) screening, treatment and referral service network in Bangladesh’s Chittagong and Rangpur Divisions, helping move another step closer to a national network of high-quality ROP services across the country.

With support from L’OCCITANE Canada and the L’OCCITANE Foundation, Orbis is working to integrate eye health into Ghana’s primary health care system to create community-level access to primary eye care services and eye health education, while also strengthening eye care capacity at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Offinso District.
