All around the world there are millions of children suffering needlessly from vision loss or blindness that’s preventing them from going to school, playing with their friends and enjoying life the way every child deserves. But with your support, we can change this – we just have to believe!
This holiday season, let's all believe!
This #GivingTuesday, and for the entire holiday season, we’re asking you to believe. Believe in a world where every child has access to quality eye care. Believe in a world where every child can see clearly. Believe in a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Do You Believe in the Power of Sight?
This holiday season, we’re asking you to say, "Eye Believe! I believe in the power of sight, and I believe in a better, brighter, happier future for children all around the world."
I want to give the gift of sight
DonateBecause You Believed
Vision creates opportunity, expands possibility and gives a child the chance to thrive.
Below, meet just a few of the countless children who were given that chance, thanks to Orbis and our amazing donors and supporters who chose to believe.
Sarnai's Story
Like most little girls or boys her age, Sarnai – whose name means “Rose” in her native Mongolian – caught a cold when she was three years old. She had the usual symptoms, like a fever and runny nose, but her family also noticed an odd swelling in Sarnai’s eye. As her cold went away, so too did the swelling – until the next time she got sick.
Jannati's Story
A few years ago, Jannati’s vision started to deteriorate and everything around her became blurry. She struggled in school and had to rely on help from others just to get around. Not able to afford the care their daughter needed, her heartbroken parents watched helplessly as Jannati's vision only got worse.
Khang's Story
Khang is a bright and inquisitive boy who lives with his family in Binh Dinh, Vietnam. He absolutely loves school, especially math, and enjoys taking things apart to see how they work. An exceptional student, Khang is excelling in his studies and has a bright future ahead of him – but things could have been much different.
Teshager's Story
For most of his young life, six-year-old Teshager struggled with poor vision. At just two years old, he caught trachoma. After many more infections in the years that followed, he developed trichiasis. For Teshager, every blink felt like his eyes were scratching sandpaper. He could barely see, he couldn't play with his friends and he was unable to go to school.
Give a Child the Gift of Sight This Holiday Season
The ability to see and interact with the world plays a critical role in how children learn, play, socialize and develop. With poor vision – or no vision at all – children face a lifetime of struggle and lack of opportunities. This is especially true for children living in areas where quality eye care isn’t available.
Your donation today will help open a world of possibilities and give so many children a reason to believe.
A routine surgery, some antibiotics or even just a simple pair of glasses could mean the chance to go to school, get an education and ultimately escape a generational cycle of poor vision and poverty for good.
Say EYE BELIEVE! this holiday season
Give a child the gift of sight and the chance at a better future.
