Flying Eye Hospital lands in Vietnam for sight-saving project

The Flying Eye Hospital just touched down in Can Tho, Vietnam for our first in-person, patient-focused trip since the pandemic began. Scroll down to see some beautiful pictures of the plane landing and the team transforming the plane into hospital-mode.

In this three-week project, eye care professionals from across Vietnam are training alongside Orbis’s expert Volunteer Faculty, comprised of ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, biomedical engineers and nurses.

Below you can see some shots of the plane landing and the wonderful welcome the team received.

After landing, members of the Flying Eye Hospital crew transformed the plane into hospital mode. Once ready, Vietnamese eye care teams will be able to take advantage of our full suite of ophthalmic training tools, including live operating rooms and a mobile simulation training center.

Below are some shots of the team hard at work over the weekend. Keep your eyes open for more updates of the plane as they come in.
