The first flight will depart on October 14 (World Sight Day), followed by flights on October 15 and 16, and November 30 (Giving Tuesday). Teams of up to 12 people are required to fundraise at least $2,000 to book their ticket on this remarkable virtual flight.

What makes Flight for Sight so unique is that it utilizes the incredibly realistic technology and satellite imagery of Microsoft Flight Simulator to create a virtual flight experience that takes participants to the farthest corners of the world.

But it’s about more than just the incredible view. Flight for Sight is a 60-minute immersive entertainment experience featuring a series of live-hosted games, skill-testing trivia challenges and interactive team problem-solving competitions. Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Comes to Life in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Recently, Orbis International and Microsoft Flight Simulator announced a new partnership that gives flight simmers the chance to virtually explore the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital. Users can tour the Flying Eye Hospital in full hospital mode with stunningly authentic detail and learn more about Orbis’s mission to train and inspire local teams to save sight in their communities. The Flying Eye Hospital is available as a free download for all Microsoft Flight Simulator users through the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace. The plane, however, is not currently available for flight.
The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital demonstrates how aviation can be a force for good in the world. Since our first-generation DC-8 took off in 1982, the plane has traveled to 97 countries to carry out sight-saving programs. This third generation MD-10 that Microsoft Flight Simulator users can experience was donated by the employees of Orbis’s global partner, FedEx, and launched in 2016.
