Vision in Action: A Year of Empowerment and Impact
This past year was an exciting and inspiring one for Orbis – in Canada and all around the world in the countries where we work.
Together with our incredible local partners, we celebrated some major milestones and important firsts, and we took our mission to new heights. As a result, we touched millions of lives and laid the foundation for a transformational shift in eye care that will be felt by families and communities for generations.
In our 2024 Impact Report, we reflect on our proudest achievements and highlight just some of our most impactful work from the past year – all of which was made possible thanks to our generous and committed supporters, like you.
As we set our sights on even greater things in 2025, we hope you’ll continue to believe in all that we can achieve together. As always, our mission remains clear – to strengthen the local people, places, and systems that ultimately make quality eye care accessible for all. In 2024, our mission was defined by three interconnected forces: empowerment, opportunity, and transformation. Across every country, project, and partnership, we proved that empowering individuals creates opportunities, and these opportunities spark real, lasting transformation for millions of people.
Together with our local partners and committed supporters, we didn’t just deliver eye care. We helped expand what’s possible and empowered communities to lead the way towards access, equity, and impact that endures.
At Orbis Canada, we work hard to ensure your gifts are used as effectively as possible. The funds we raise help increase access to quality eye care and save sight in the countries where Orbis works. We also invest in the future of the organization to ensure we can continue delivering on our important mission for as long as needed.

Special Note: At Orbis Canada, (Orbis Canada Foundation), we have developed policies and procedures to ensure all funds raised are used appropriately and ensure the greatest impact in the countries we work. When we fund specific projects, those funds are deemed “restricted” and as such are recorded as “advance payments” up to the point they are spent, as per Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations. This can create unusual shifts in program expenses, particularly in years where we raise significant funds – and can impact how the full impact of our efforts is perceived.
